Canada’s Weed Growers Destroy a Lot of Cannabis
For every kilogram of legal cannabis consumed in Canada, nearly eight kilograms of cannabis plants and waste are composted, burned, or destroyed by Canadian pot growers. The destruction records reflect the total weight of all cannabis products, including waste, trimmings, and dried cannabis flower that doesn’t pass quality assurance.

DEA Reclassifies Plant-derived Marijuana Medicine to Schedule V
On September 27, 2018 the DEA reclassified Epidiolex, a prescription medicine containing a standardized formulation of plant-derived cannabidiol (CBD), to a Schedule V medicine – the lowest restriction classification available under federal law.

Seattle Courts to Clear Charges for Pre-Legalization Marijuana Misdemeanors
Earlier this month, the municipal court judges in Seattle issued an order outlining a process to clear the records of those with misdemeanor possession convictions. The decision could affect up to 542 defendants in cases prosecuted between 1996 and 2010.

The study is small in scale, but the result is promising nonetheless.
